Quick Tip: Be Flexible

If you’re in the X-gen or Boomer generations this is beyond a trading lesson. It’s a life lesson.

I read that over 10,00 Boomers are retiring every day. I’m sure there is a need for supplemental income for many, maybe most of them. That means some kind of work in the new “gig” economy. Although I’d argue that trading is the better choice. ðŸ˜Š

Here’s the rub, though. Work looks different today. Flexibility in hours, days, workspaces, and location is the norm. Adjusting to this massive change takes an open mind and flexibility. The sooner you drop your view about “the way things should be” based on your life experience and embrace the possibilities of this change you’ll realize the outcome is very pleasant.

Freedom of time (work/play when you want to), location (live where you want to), and finances become your main and achievable objective!

You could move overseas where the sun shines more, and the exchange rate plummets your living costs. Even so, you may still need or want a grander lifestyle. Work in a coffee shop? Become a tour guide? Teach English? Or trade the markets? Which choice keeps your brain the sharpest

Back to trading. Markets change character. What works today may not work tomorrow. And it may come back strong next month. Consider having this “checklist” in your trading plan:

1. Expect things to change.

2. Be willing to change, have an open mind.

3. Monitor incoming market and your strategy/performance data.

4. Set milestones that alert you when to change.

5. Have your “Plan B” figured out in advance.
